Day 3. We had a tough night because of an upset tummy so didn't eat much. They gave him some medicine to help calm his tummy and he ate a little pedialyte. He was pretty happy after that and began playing with his toes. Hopefully we will have a better day.

One of our favorite nurses Jane came in to visit. She removed the drain tube out of Brody's head and then had to put wrap on to hold the gauze in place. We can't decide if he lookes like Karate Kid, and indian, or a ninja. Either way we still think he is cute. Once the bleeding stopped we could remove the wrap. Aunt Chelle was heading back home to her family and Uncle Brett had to get back to Goodland for work so they got one last squeeze in before leaving.

Josh and I went downstairs for lunch and Brody stayed with Grandma Rosie and Aunt Chelle. After he got his iv's out they surprised us and brought him downstairs. There was a band playing in the lobby as well. That wore him out and he fell asleep after coming back up to his floor.

Brody looked pretty good for the day after surgery. Just a little swollen.

The day after surgery. Josh got the first smile of the day.

He had a monitor hooked up to his toe that made it bright red. Grandpa Mike thinks we should put it on his nose so he can be Rudolph for Christmas!

His first feeding after surgery. He hadn't eaten since 1:00 am and it was 4:30 pm. He didn't eat much but it was a start.

After surgery pictures. He was such a trooper!!!

Ready for surgery. Not sure mommy is ready. Good thing grandmas were there.

Surgery Day. Had to get some pictures before we headed to the hospital.

Brody in his Bumbo wearing Uncle Brett's hat.

Daddy got Brody a police man build a bear from Bass Pro. Josh had stuffing flying at him from all directions trying to make the bear, but it was well worth it. Brody also received a Rocking Horse from Joe and Martha, his day care providers. Brody absolutely loves them. He has already had his first ride and didn't even get bucked off.

We had Christmas with Susan, Brett, and Nichole before heading to Denver for Brody's surgery. Brody hung out with Nichole for several minutes. Nichole said it was a milestone because usually he cries when she holds him. Uncle Brett (Uncle Monkey as Brody knows him) dressed up as Santa Claus and Brody was his elf helper. We had so much fun. Lots of laughs. Thanks Grandma Susan for the elf outfit.

Josh's cousin Mandi and her family came to visit us last weekend. It was a fight to see who got to sit in the Bumbo first. Ethan got the Bumbo, Brody got the Boppy and Izaac decided to sit on top of Brody :) Brody tolerated it for awhile.

We were supposed to have the whole family home for Thanksgiving, but Michelle ended up having surgery, Adam got sick, Josh had to work...so it was just Brody and I at mom and dad's house. Brody was making grandpa's arms tired by bouncing up and down. He and Grandma were having a contest to see who could stick their tongue out farther.

Brody had his 3 mo. pictures taken. We snuck in a family picture.

Brody is ready to go hunting with his daddy. He blends in with the couch in his camo. The taggie came from Susan's boyfriend Jim's mother.

Since we didn't have to be at the hospital for surgery Josh and Grandma Susan decided to create Brody a pillow fort. We then went to eat at Joe's Crab Shack. Josh and Brett had sea food on the brain.

Michelle had surgery on November 17th and Brody was supposed to have surgery on November 18th so we got a picture of the two.

We came out to Denver on Monday November 15th so Josh and I could give blood for Brody's surgery on Thursday November 18th. We stayed with Aunt Chelle, Uncle Rhett, Raly, Reese, and Jack. Brody's cousin Jack is two months younger, but weighs one pound more than Brody. Raly loves to take care of the boys.

This was my first attempt at eating cereal with a spoon. I am going to have to keep practicing.

Brody has learned to roll over. He doesn't like being on his tummy so usually cries. He must have been tired.

My new bouncer and bumbo from Grandma Susan's friend Brandy's garage sale. It was quite a deal. I love them both very much.
